    • Google apologizes for Theodor Heuss Platz being temporarily renamed Adolf HItler Platz on Google Maps. The street had carried the name Adolf Hitler Platz…from 1933-1945. It was renamed Theodor Heuss Platz in 1963, after the country’s first president.

    • Android version numbers for December: 1.4% KitKat, 59.1% Jellybean, 16.9% ICS, 21.2% Gingerbread
    • Users on the Play Store giving one star reviews so the review will show up higher on the page. For example, Tülay Sahillioglu writes: “Good, a very good game! I gave 1 star so that my comment gets seen.”
    • Facebook acquires India-based Little Eye Labs. It’s a suite of development tools for developers who want to keep tabs on their apps’ performance, giving them a suite of tools such as resource consumption trends, performance monitors, fine details about events and listeners, detailed reports and even a performance score.
    • Google announces Open Automotive Alliance(OAA) to bring Android to cars. Members will include Audi, GM, Honda, Hyundai and Nvidia. The OAA will focus on optimizing Android for the built-in controls of an automotive system.
    • Sprint introduces “Framily” Plan that gets cheaper the more people on it.

    • Google Play Services 4.1 update, adds turn-based multiplayer gameplay to Android, preview of the new Google Drive API, Google Mobile Ads, and sharing with Gmail to your circled contacts.
    • Gmail update pushing out, enables “Always Shows Images” setting.
    • Yahoo buys contextual launcher Aviate.
