    • Open Android Alliance with the goal of supplying provider updates for 18 months after release of hardware
    • Android compatible low-cost lightbulbs
    • Android @home: APIs for home automation
    • Open Accessory API for USB and bluetooth devices
    • Google Music launches by invite only. Google Music app 3.0 released
    • Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) Applications can now receive notifications when external cameras are attached and removed, manage files and storage on those devices, and transfer files and metadata to and from them.
    • Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) API for audio. Developers can directly manage on-demand or interactive data streaming to enable VOIP, push-to-talk, conferencing, and audio streaming.

    • T-Mobile to offer unlimited wi-fi calling without using minutes. Other carriers wonder why wi-fi calling is not offered at all.
