I don’t feel that at any time should a website know your password, not even at first evaluation to say “Hey dummy ‘12345’ is a weak password.” The password should have been hashed or salted to prevent even the first view of the password by making it unintellible. If the site knows so much in order to complain at first blush, they’re probably not storing correctly for my taste, either.

I’m a bit behind on listening to the podcast but it is good in a way.
The other day I listened to security now on TWIT and they were also discussing passwords; During the episode they showed this comic http://xkcd.com/936/ .

Oh, by the way, I’m a girl, aged 18 from Belgium and I love the podcast.
