  • AT&T CEO suggests the future is data plans, with some traffic ‘toll free’, not counted toward your allowance. Content providers would pay for traffic on their sites. Voice and text would be VoIP/data based services.
  • LTE allowing CDMA users to have a SIM card for the first time, as the industry and Apple consider embedded SIMS, taking away same portability from users who have it now.

    • SiriusXM satellite radio app gets update, still need an Internet subscription
    • Hotspot Shield VPN now available for Android, offers free VPN services(assuming you trust them to protect your data). Free includes basic encryption and ads, Elite version is $1.99/month or $19.99/year and adds private browsing, malware protection, and bandwidth compression. Does not yet support ICS or Honeycomb.

    • New Swiftkey 3 Beta released, hopefully soon out of beta, just keeps improving. 
    • Google Maps updated, adds local tab with Zagat rating.
    • ClipSync syncs your phone and computer clipboard. (Play Link)
    • Evernote Hello remembers who people are so you don’t have to. The app not only allows you to enter a person into your phone and put a face to the name, but it also builds up the context of where and when you met, what you may have had in common, or even what they were wearing. (Play Link)

  • Do you want to sync your phone and your fridge? Samsung’s Music Hub seeks to do that.
