    • AT&T will launch a new service for reporting and blocking stolen devices on Tuesday.
    • Verizon files appeal against FCC, says Net Neutrality violates the Carrier’s Free Speech Rights, as well as Confiscating its Property without just compensation 
    • 999, the world’s first emergency number, turned 75. In 1935, a house fire in London killed five women. Though a neighbor tried to phone the fire department, he was put on hold and unable to get through, leading to an outraged letter in The Times and the beginning of emergency phone service as we know it.

    • Tweet Lanes – a new ICS themed Twitter client, is getting interest in beta. Appears this may be a power user app when complete. (Play Link)
    • ACLU’s Police Tape app lets you discretely record and backup police interactions. Lots of reports of instability. (Play Link)
    • Wordlens comes to Android. Translate signs and replace text in original image. One language included with the paid version, have to pay for additional languages. Supports Spanish, French, Italian to/from English. (Play Link)
    • Google Play Movies lifts restriction on rooted devices
    • Let’s Create Pottery, a game where you make pottery, sell it, and use the proceeds to make better pottery. (Play Link)
    • LIbreOffice posts progress on Android port, now able to cross-compile for Android. Android interface not yet fully baked.
    • Let your Android device teach you how to tie your tie. (Play Link)
    • SocialFrame Free HD(Slideshow) – Acts as a fully connected digital photo frame(RSS, Social Media, time, weather, etc) (Play Link)
    • TBS for Tablets…allows for full episodes, after authenticating with your provider. (Play Link)
    • iFixit now available as an Android app. (Play Link)
    • Official VLC Beta goes live…outside of the US. (Play Link)
    • Costco’s Official App allows you to shop, save, and more, but is little more of a wrapper around the mobile site. (Play Link)
  • Platform News
    • Heat causes top of jelly bean statue on Google Campus to pop off. Jellybeans stolen.
    • Youtube Android Player API allows for a full Youtube experience within another app. 
    • Cyanogenmod 10 will be Jellybean, should be out quickly, as very similar to ICS. The vast gap between Gingerbread and ICS is what has caused the delay in CM9. 
    • Nexus S 4G now fully supported in AOSP. CDMA phones such as the CDMA Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S 4G had been removed as images due to licensing issues with CDMA technologies. Hoping for additional support in future.
    • ICS finally on 10.9 percent of devices, 8.5 months in. 64% on Gingerbread, 17.3% on Froyo. 
    • Google Play Store now allows, as promised, developers to post privacy policies. 
    • Android team, in addition to USB audio support, working on low latency audio, which could allow for using Android to create and edit sound. There are many tools for musicians on iOS.
