    • Google pressures Swedish Language Council to redefine proposed word, ogooglebar. The Swedish Language Council removed the word rather than get into the debate of how to define ogooglebar.

The patent pledge applies, however, only to projects based on open source software that is available to all. Will not sue unless sued first.
    • Canadian Supreme Court enforces stricter standards on police reading text messages. Officers must now secure a warrant order to obtain live, real time texts. This is higher than a standard general warrant.
    • Google experimenting with same-day shopping delivery with Google Shopping Express

    • Facebook to make unknown Android announcement on Thursday, some say Facebook phone.
    • Beginning in April 2013, Google changes Platform versions calculations to be based on visits to the Play Store, not checking into Google servers. 25% on Jellybean, 29.3% on ICS, 39.8% on Gingerboard.
    • Asus agrees to pay damages to anyone who owned a TF201.
    • Google has more than half of U.S. smartphone sales at 51%, according to Kantar’s Worldpanel. iOS is holding at 43%
    • Version of BOINC for Android being developed. The extra processing power will be used to crunch numbers for Einstein@Home, a project searching for undiscovered black holes, pulsars, and gravitational anomalies among the universe.
    • Google Maps Transit now includes live departure times and service alerts in NYC, Salt Lake City, and D.C.
    • Google Keep includes new Serif font with Google Keep called Roboto Slab. May come to an app near you soon.
