  • Platform News
    • Google makes major changes to Developer Content Policy. Ads no longer permitted through notifications, unless derived from an integral feature of the app(deal notifications,etc). Content policy now applies to the developer name and website, to avoid impersonating another organization, app, service, etc. Changes to language on hate speech and the definition of gambling. Apps cannot publish your contact list, if they are not public. Google also now forbids an app to make any changes to the device outside of the app without user consent and knowledge. No adding shortcuts, bookmarks, or icons to third parties unrelated to your app.
    • Google files patent to change phone unlock parameters based on location.
    • Google Search Word definitions now add word origins and usage over time
    • Cyanogenmod Introduces CM Account, which is an end-to-end encrypted app that allows phone tracking/wiping.
    • Google adds Real Time Incident Reports from Waze to Maps.

    • Google Search updated, adds ability to download images in Image Search, the ability to edit reminders, car rentals, concert tickets, improved public transit, commute sharing, reminders while you search, NCAA scores and more.

    • Duolingo Updated, brings with it the ability to store up to an hour of lessons on-device for offline use. Allows you to learn Spanish, French, German, Portugeuse, Italian, and English. (Play Link)
    • Hangouts updated with bug fixes and stability improvements.
    • Orbitz updated, integrates with Google Now, better performance and navigation. (Play Link)
    • Google updates Keep, integrates with Google Now, allows reminder to be set with notes, new navigation drawer, and more.
    • New version of Swiftkey launches with sale, adds cloud sync, trending phrases, Google+ sign-in, and more. (Play Link)
    • Chrome for Android now supports WebRTC in stable.
    • Facebook updates Android SDK, provides developers with streamlined sharing dialog, new login UI, etc.
    • Soundseeder duplicates Samsung’s Group Play or Sonos like behavior, allows you to send audio to any Android device and control playback, volume, and connections via the host device. (Play Link)
