- Google makes major changes to Developer Content Policy. Ads no longer permitted through notifications, unless derived from an integral feature of the app(deal notifications,etc). Content policy now applies to the developer name and website, to avoid impersonating another organization, app, service, etc. Changes to language on hate speech and the definition of gambling. Apps cannot publish your contact list, if they are not public. Google also now forbids an app to make any changes to the device outside of the app without user consent and knowledge. No adding shortcuts, bookmarks, or icons to third parties unrelated to your app.

- Google Search Word definitions now add word origins and usage over time
- Cyanogenmod Introduces CM Account, which is an end-to-end encrypted app that allows phone tracking/wiping.
